Svalbard, with its distinctive political and environmental conditions, provides the backdrop for the exhibition at Norske Grafikere. The artist explores the complexities of human activity and vulnerable Arctic ecosystems, presenting us with a multifaceted portrait of Svalbard. The project weaves together scientific research and interviews with performance and installation. The textile elements on display serve as props in the performances, symbolising both ecological vulnerability and the cultural bonds that connect Svalbard’s community.

Through the project, viewers are invited to consider how environmental research and dialogue can be transformed into a relational artistic practice – a practice that not only represents, but actively participates in, the collective conversation around meaning, territory and care. We are challenged to engage more deeply with the Arctic as a vulnerable, inhabited and politically charged space.
