Atelie x GalleryLab is organizing an art fair at Romsås that rethinks the format through locality and accessibility. Since all the artists in Romsås Tower have already been carefully curated by the Oslo Municipality’s Cultural Affairs Agency, every artist has been invited to participate.

By inviting artists to apply directly, the project draws attention to artistic agency and the frameworks through which we encounter art. The fair is understood as a structure in constant development that can be moved, adjusted, and create new connections between artists, audiences, and site.

The exhibition creates connections between the artists in the tower, the local community, and new art buyers. To make purchasing art for the first time more accessible, all works are priced at 5,000 NOK or less. When a work is purchased, the buyer takes it home immediately.

The exhibition opens on May 28 and also marks the opening of Oslo Art Weekend, May 28–31.
