The group exhibition Hypokeimenon explores language as both a structure and a practical tool for orientation. By asking how language shapes the way we think, act, and position ourselves in the world.
Over the course of two years, nine artists have developed the project through independent practices and shared workshops.
Throughout this process, the artists have worked around “prepositions”. A category of words describing relations such as above, below, within, behind, alongside, across. The small words that are easy to overlook, yet essential for understanding where we are in relation to the world around us.
The exhibition includes collaborative works as well as individual pieces spanning drawing, painting, sculpture, video, weaving, and installation.
