Munchmuseet on the Move – Kunsthall Oslo invites you to the first major presentation of Edvard Munch and Käthe Kollwitz side by side. Two artists whose lives and art encompassed momentous events in European history as well as personal tragedies.
Munch and Kollwitz share an intensity, a concern with grief and loss. At the same time, they took different approaches to aesthetics, to politics, to life. Munch's concern is individualistic and existential; that of Kollwitz is personal and political.
