Mona Grini displays paintings and mixed techniques on paper. The artist draws inspiration from nature, memories, moods, experiences, and the work process itself. The unexpected elements that emerge along the way guide the direction, along with hidden stories in previous layers. The artist uses color as the main element, and through the interplay of colors and forms, stories are created that move between the inner landscape and the depiction of external impulses. Some glimpses show a human sketch among the terrain notes, elements of something organic, a fantasy plant, a crying tree, outgrowths, fragments of the soul, vase-like repositories, and a coloristic flourish.Mona
Grini was educated at the Art Academy in Copenhagen and has been acquired by the Ny Carlsberg Foundation, Copenhagen Cultural Fund, the Norwegian Parliament, LO, and NHO.
