During Ultima 2026, Salgshallen (Storgata 36a) will host four concerts featuring musicians from the International Ensemble Modern Academy in Frankfurt. The musicians will split up, regroup, and swap roles to perform works spanning from 1933 to the present day, featuring a French wind quartet, solo bassoon, and prepared cello.

Providing a backdrop for the concerts is a solo exhibition by visual artist Sofie Berntsen, comprising new collages and sculptural works. Reflecting the way humans experience both visible and invisible sensory phenomena, Berntsen’s work seeks expressions that can lift us out of the material world and connect us to another dimension.

Welcome to a sensory experience and a musical journey through time within the historic bazaar halls from 1932.

The concert is part of Ultima’s new series of house concerts.
