Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 6:00 PM, SOFT will be pleased to open the exhibition year with The Dump I–III by Kristin Sæterdal.

The three monumental tapestries, which the artist has worked on throughout the period 2021–2025, represent a major work in Sæterdal's extensive practice in tapestries. And we are proud to be able to present the work in its entirety for the very first time.

With The Dump I–III, Sæterdal wants to shine a spotlight on the global garbage crisis. The motifs are based on photographs the artist herself took at a garbage dump in Main during a trip to the USA in 2017.

In connection with the exhibition at SOFT, Sæterdal is launching a monograph based on The Dump I–III.

The publication, with texts by Hilde Østby, Nina M. Schjønsby, Vibeke Hermanrud and photos by Marie Sjøvoll, illuminates the work from various professional perspectives and will be available for sale in the gallery throughout the exhibition period.
