Welcome to the finissage of Eva Ballo's exhibition FARLIG VARLIG on Sunday, December 21 at 2:30 p.m. Eva will serve berry soup and berry drinks, and we will hold a holiday get-together on the last opening day in 2025. Welcome!
In her works, Ballo explores our relationship with nature and how we manage its resources. She looks at the role of small natural resources in a larger ecosystem, and inspect their symbolic and social meanings. She's using silk, wax, plant and textile dyes, which are dyed or painted onto the textiles. Through motif and language, Ballo examines the collective notions we carry with us around nature – shaped by fairy tales, memories and traditions related to food gathering and food culture.
Eva Margrethe Ballo (b.1988) has a degree in textiles from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and MA from Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts, and has exhibited at, among others, Tøyen Munch, K.U.K., Gdansk National Museum, T.S.S.K., Galleri ASK and Trøndelagsutstillingen.
