Paula Rego’s art and the spirit of Portugal are celebrated in this intimate concert featuring fado, Iberian chamber music, Grieg and more.

To celebrate Portugal’s national day on 10 June, chamber ensemble Alma Lusitana present a recital of Portuguese music and readings. The ensemble consists of four musicians from the Oslo Philharmonic. The programme is curated as a musical journey through many of the themes in the exhibition Paula Rego: Dance among thorns, including New Beginnings, the Abortion series, Childhood memories, Possession, The Magic of Fairytales, and moments in Portugal’s history.

The concert will be accompanied by slides of Rego’s artworks relevant to the music.
