The pedestal, the building, the armature, the chair, the mother, the father, the mentor, the art installer, the funding scheme: all are structures of support, yet they are rarely considered together.

Kunstnernes Hus has spent nearly a century as a support structure for artists and art. At the same time, it is an institution built and shaped by artists. Support Structures takes this relationship between people, architecture and institutions as a starting point to explore how the structures around us shape our lives and creative practices.
